Globally, May is recognised as Mental Health Awareness month and in the UK next week it's Mental Health Awareness week. Thankfully the mental health and wellbeing of business teams seems to be higher on the agenda than ever.
I launched Meditation Rocks in the first lockdown of 2020 and what started off as a way to provide engaging, accessible and creative mindfulness content and live sessions to individual members, has quickly evolved into also offering memberships for teams from business, organisations and institutions from all over Europe .
For many, meditation is still a word they would rather shy away from, but the Meditation Rocks approach is to take mindfulness meditation and make it completely relevant to real life situations. It truly is meditation with the modern world in mind.
That's why I am so thrilled to make three big announcements ahead of Mental Health Awareness week:
1) After twenty years of practicing meditation, six years qualified as a teacher and given all of our experiences over the past year, I have developed a brand new mindfulness meditation technique which can be practiced by anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is called the Be Right Back Mindfulness Meditation technique and it encourages you to find time in your day to turn your back on the world for a short time while you practice for as little as a few minutes, and return back to your life feeling a little bit more like you. You can read more here.
2) Some companies are nervous about committing to mindfulness within their teams, but would quite like to dip their toe and have a trial, that's why we have launched the Meditation Rocks Be Right Back 21 habit for Businesses. This encourages teams to try mindfulness meditation for nine minutes per day, for 21 days, accessing a combination of live sessions and on demand video and audio content. And don't worry if you are not part of a bigger company and fancy trying this for yourself you can read more here, and we even have a special offer if you are LinkedIn with me, enter LINKEDIN10 at checkout for £10 off, getting this for £11 not the full price of £21.
3) And finally, my passion has always been about empowering children and young people to learn and practice the life skill of mindfulness meditation whoever they are, as a tool to help build resilience, increase awareness of emotions and thoughts as well as help with focus and relaxation. Over the past five years I have taught meditation to over 15,000 children in schools and at events all over the UK. I have also been lucky enough to work with some incredible charities including the Bath Rugby Community Foundation, Jamie's Farm and to become a patron of Mentoring Plus. That's why I am so happy to announce that the launch of the Meditation Rocks Foundation, from May, a percentage of all Meditation Rocks profits will go towards providing creative and engaging mindfulness meditation content to be free of charge for all Primary Schools in the UK. We have been working with over 30 schools in the past 12 months to develop a unique concept which engages children in mindfulness and now we are thrilled that all pupils can have access to learn this valuable life skill, whoever and wherever they might be.
